Cube Architects was a challenging task to grow a historical house on the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam. The major part of the housing interior is from 1982, and does not meet the requirements and style of the current residents. Together with the architects of Cube they wanted to make a beautiful family home. Due to the listed status had to be in consultation with Bureau Monuments & Archaeology. Below you see the pictures of the result with inspiring solutions and ideas.
Authentic details mixed with modern
In total, the house had an area of about 450 square meters spread over several floors. All the beautiful monumental elements are happy and are restored or preserved in the interior mixed with a modern and sleek design. Each floor has a central element with its own material. These elements are rounded and large freestanding furniture in ancient monument and therefore accompanied with the original elements.
Persian patterns in interior
The modern interior design, the style is also clear to see that the resident comes from the Middle East. In addition to the combination of classic and modern are there because you will find many oriental influences. Various Persian motifs or derived patterns can be found in the house back in many places.
